Senior Pastors Jonnie & Barbara Nickles were married in December of 1967. They grew up in church and God led them into the ministry at an early age. After serving faithfully in a local church in several capacities for 14 years, they were released into fulltime ministry. In 1984 the Lord led them, along with their two teenage children, Pearl and Jonnie, to Rome, New York where they began to minister there as a family. They pioneered a church and were the senior pastors for eighteen years.
In the summer of 2002, Pastors Jonnie and Barbara were asked to return to their home church to be the senior pastors. After much prayer and seeking God for His direction they were led to set in their Associate Pastors Dan and Pearl Sanborn as senior pastors of the Rome church. They then took the position on December 22nd , 2002 as senior pastors of the church in Elkton, Maryland, now known as Pleasant Hill Worship Center.
The Nickles are delighted to have their whole family working together in the Lord’s work. It is such a joy to them to see their children, Pastors Dan and Pearl Sanborn and Pastor Jon and Debbie Nickles and all seven grandchildren in the church in the Rome/Camden, New York area. There is no greater joy than to see our children walk in truth. All the praise and thanks go to the Lord from whom all blessings come.
Here in Pleasant Hill, Maryland, the Nickles are excited about what the Lord is doing in and through the church. There is excitement about obeying the Lord and impacting our area for Christ. There is gratefulness for all the Lord has done in the past and for the fresh vision and great expectation for the future.
